Happy Halloween!!

A bit of a flashback, I just hope there are not any repercussions in my act of Halloween Spirit.
And I love this picture, don't you?

Troy's Wedding [Preview]

Most of the pictures I took at Troy's wedding turned out blurry, so I am waiting for my sister-in-law Jill to give me some better ones. Until then here are some that are pretty decent, granted both Troy and Rachel's eyes are closed in some of the pictures...

**I should mention that the above were taken by Don and aren't blurry...

**Stole the last 3 pictures from Rachel's sister Angie off of Facebook...

5 Fav Concerts...

I mentioned in another post of the much anticpated favorite concert list, I have been thinking of it for awhile and even went through my box of old stubs... I do this list with a bit of reluctancy because I feel there is a concert out there I really enjoyed and have forgotten it, so left-out concert I apologize. Here it goes...

5- Britney Spears with O-Town... Ok, I admit that this was even a favorite but let me explain. I was a junior or sophomore in high school and O-Town had just finished their stint on MTV... So I was mostly excited to see them, but I remember being really impressed with Britney as well (obviously this was way before she went crazy!). Also, I went with two of my sisters, Traci and Tami, and we were loud and danced like crazy!!! Here was my favorite song from the concert...Lucky...

4- Gwen Stefani -- Again this is a concert I went to but with all of my sisters...Tifani, Tami, Traci and Jill (sister-in-law, but sister still the same). We danced and laughed and made fun of people around us... My favorite song from the concert...Early Winter...

3- Guster. I went with my good friend Kami to this concert and it was a blast!! I really enjoyed the drummer, anyone who has seen guster can back me up. The best part was at the end of the concert how the drummer came back on the stage and sang Total Eclipse of the Heart. I am telling you people these are the things you never forget...here's a clip...

2- New Pornographers. I know that this was a recent concer but I feel no other concert has made me listen to a CD quite like this one had... I think last week my counter said 93 time I had listened to the New Pornographers...wahoo! The concert was awesome not ever have I seen so many people on one stage singing so well together, plus, who doesn't love Neko Case?? My favorite song from the concert and album...Go Places...can't find on YouTube so close second...Challengers...

1- The Killers!! I went to this concert with Don & Co. when we were dating... The Killers hadn't become big yet and so there were only about 30 or so people there...including his grandparents and we met them...boo yeah!! It was crazy I bet a lot of the crowd was his family...but it was awesome and it sparked the love of my favorite Killers song... Indie Rock n Roll...

**Close Call Concerts...The Editors, AFI, Weezer, The Pixies, and Interpol (1st Time).
***I believe atmosphere really helps in making a concert... some of these may seem dumb but it's all in context people.
****Concert hopes to see in the future...Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, and Wayne Newton...only serious on one of those...

Fantastic FHE

On Monday for FHE we attend the Interpol concert, it was frandom(fun+random). They wouldn't let you take cell phones in, we didn't find out the hard way, Lisel did, she informed us before we got there. We missed the first opening band The Shout Out Louds, BOO! We got there in time for The Liars, which was a band just making sound effects into the mic...yuck...and the lead singer (who we decided is a cross between Beeker from the Muppets, Jeff Barry aka Game FAQ Aggie, some other guy I didn't know, and Satan), keep inhaling the microphone...double yuck...literally putting it in his mouth several times. Weird. When Interpol came on they were great, they played all of the songs I wanted to hear but forgot to play Next Exit.

**Coming up, My Top 5 Favorite Concerts in tribute of
Soffe's post of his 5 fav's...
**Also like to thanks my Concert Buddy Mel for attending and
for Lisel for making friends wherever she goes!!

Pumpkin Fun!

Thursday I got the idea that it would be fun to carve a pumpkin this year for Halloween. We usually don't carve, we prefer to paint them because of the squishy-ness from pumpkins. I remember when we were first dating, I painted a cute Frankenstein pumpkin and Don painted some random guy from the newspaper (**I should add that it was a very good painting and may have been the winning factor in why I married him – I do have a picture maybe I’ll post it). On Friday we invited the Burnett's over to carve pumpkins with us, it was a lot of fun!! I know why I have avoiding carving pumpkins... its grose... but I think our pumpkins turned out pretty cute! However, next year we'll stick to painting!!

I've Been Boo'd

At the beginning of the week I got Boo'd by the neighborhood ghost, which means you have 2 days to make 2 treats and take them to 2 people. 4 days later...ha ha...I finally decide to make homemade oreos and take them around. The funny thing is I do not consider myself a cook at all, but if there is one thing that my family always counts on me to make it's homemade oreos. I even bought neon food dye(teal, lime green, purple and pink are all of the colors) and made orange frosting. Did you know that eight drops of lime green and 3 of pink makes a pretty decent orange? Crazy huh?
Here's the recipe for the 'Halloween' Oreos...

Halloween Oreos

1 pkg Devil's Food (don't buy off brand )
2 eggs
3/4 vegetable oil (applesauce works too)

1 can of Cream Cheese Frosting

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix top three together, roll into balls size of meatballs and place them on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7-8 min (they are ready when they flatten out and start to crack). Let cookies cool and then smash them together with frosting (you can add food coloring to make orange frosting). Makes about 2 dozen WHOLE cookies...

Now your ready to go Boo someone....

Random Stalking Moments...

Ok, I've had some random 'internet stocking' moments that have really got the gears in my head a turnin'... I share these with some reluctance and a whole lot of embarrassment.
1- Went to Michael McLean last night for Young Women’s. It was movie on the lawn at the high school for the older girls, so try taking a hand full of Beehives to a concert about adoption [they were disinterested to say the least]. Half way through a song, I recognize this girl... guess from where, her blog... I feel I have to avoid her when I walked by her, not necessary because she has no idea who I am!
2- Randomly I was checking out some people friends on Facebook and wham! I found this boy’s page that I had a crush on in elementary school, I really was devastated when he moved... but seeing his Facebook page, it was probably for the best... just weird experience, I guess.
**I am going to stop blog and Facebook stalking now...maybe I should quit the internet. Ha ha! No names will be provided...

Plane Tickets to Paradise

Yesterday we purchased tickets to go to New York in December. I am really excited because I have not ever been to New York before. Don went the Christmas before we got married and I was really jealous while he was gone. We are going with a bunch of friends that we went to Boston with in 2005. Also, this New York adventure is apart of the Andersens' New Years Resolution 2007, we wanted to go on 7 trips or vacations in the year '07. Here's how we are doing so far...

1- Disneyland - Springbreak

2- Park City - Anniversary

3- Park City - Inner Circle Weekend

4- Disneyland - Griswald Reunion

5- South Dakota - Thanksgiving

6- New York - Christmas

7-???

We actually need a 7th trip, any suggestions? Please not Park City or Disneyland...

Conference Weekend

It was conference weekend, which always reminds me of felt stockings. My mom has made a felt stocking (pictured above) for each one of us children, so as our family gets bigger each of us take turns adding another. 5 in-laws and 11 grandchildren later, I think we were 5 behind, so last year I made like 3. Anywho, Troy is getting married in less than two weeks, so I am making one for his wife-to-be Rachel. They take a lot of time, but are really fun to make!! I didn't come close to finishing it, but it's a good start. I can't remember listening to conference and not having a stocking to work on, I have even made some for Don and I to have at our own house... I will post pictures of all of the stockings when Christmas comes...which will be sooner then we all know! We also had a “tool shower’ for Troy and Rachel yesterday at my Aunt Myra’s house (I think it was Don’s favorite shower when we got married). They made away with a lot of great stuff or should I say 'tools'!

1...2...3...

Last night I went to enrichment with my good friend Cambria. We had a lot of fun; my ward goes all out every month with a dinner and crafts! I signed us up for a scrapbooking craft because I am not a scrapbooker but yet find myself clinging to the hope that I could be good at it. I’m not!! It was really time consuming, and I finished at turtle speed. I was inking and gluing (modge podge) the night away. Here's the finished product, I couldn't figure where to put it or what to put along with it so here's my 3 arrangements.
**We also went a got ice cream with all of my girl friends, which was really fun and full of laughter, I only wish I would've taken a picture of us!
Here's what else I've been up to, I am mad at myself for not having the time to finish. I told Don the other night I just want to quit school so I can watch TV and sew. Then I finally got some sleep and reality kicked back in...anywho...You guessed it, it's a diaper bag. I have no experience with diaperbags personally but I think it turned out pretty cute. When finished I will pass it on to my sister Tami and let her try it out. If there is anyone who could give this bag a run for it's money it's Tami and her two active babies. We'll see if it can stand the test of time...in the mean time, doesn't it look great with our blue carpet?

ARGH...To The Deathly Hallows

This won't be lengthy but I need to vent. I want to die, ha ha! Not really but I have just taken 3 test in almost 4 hours and I feel I didn't do well on any of the tests! Argh! Argh! Argh!
**Good news though, I have been listening to the last and final Harry Potter book at work and tonight is the night I will finish!! Little late I know. I am really stoked, I tried to cheat my way out of the book by reading the spoiler... didn't work I didn't recognize any of the names so I had to go back to book 5. And tonight by glory, I will finish and be content in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Ask Don I have been stressing out over the book.
(To dispel any concern, I can work and listen at the same time...multi-tasking!!)
