Apostrophy Designs: Preparing For Pam

Preparing For Pam

I have not really felt like blogging lately mostly because time is just flying by a little too quick for my liking...and things are becoming a little bit scary here at the homestead.

Scary because we have starting taking our "Birthing" Classes, which I should add to my list of things I do when I can't sleep [or has become the number one reason for NOT sleeping]...

I signed up for this class with false expectations, I really felt like they would tell me more about what to do with Pam once she was born and not so much every detail that birthing entails.

[I use the term birthing because I really, really like the way it sounds, less scary than LABOR]

Not in anyway do I mean to play a whoa-is-me card, because I have been feeling really good throughout this whole pregnancy, but as week 34 approaches my nerves can't help but catch up with me.

I've been trying a few things to help with the nerves...

But let's face it, practicing my gang signs does NOTHING for NO ONE!

Anyone got any better ideas?

oh tor i feel your pain. i remember those nerves all too well. sad thing is i still had them with my 3rd c-section. you would think i would be fine knowing what was going to happen, but i wasn't. i think it's worse with your first. i remember every night going to bed wondering, is tonight 'the' night. so much to do in that last little while and i never felt prepared. i think it's all just the unknown. i will say, you will do wonderful. you will be an amazing mom and you've had your fair share of helping with little ones, and big ones too. :0) we love you tor and we're so excited for baby a, pamela, to arrive. here's to a good nights sleep.

Oh you are so cute! We're sad we missed the game on Saturday. We had fun on Thursday. Did you get the crib? We really need to do a game night! Your going to be such a cute mom!

I remember thinking the same thing after we brought Norah home! Don't get me wrong, I LOVED our Bradley birthing classes and understanding what was going on during the birthing process really helped me feel more in control. Giving birth was something I was doing, not just something that was happening to me. That being said, I really think some class explaining the reality of first-time parenting would have been a good idea for me. My point at the end of this too-long comment, just relax. Seriously, don't panic, don't go crazy, and don't be afraid to ask for help. It's fabulous and you'll be grrrreat! Pamela is a lucky girl already!

Maybe you are about to give birth to a cute pokemon. Of course this is a joke. As a fan of pokemon, I feel like hatching pokemon. We acquire a cute little guy, and then slowly train him to turn him into a powerful Shiny 6IV Pokemon.
